Our Story
Taking inspiration from the Sanskrit word 'Mangala' symbolising auspicious well-being, Mangala Estate Boutique Resort emerged as an eco-conscious destination that seamlessly blends luxury, sustainability, and mindfulness.
In 1978, FRANKY Group of Companies took ownership of a vast 500-acre land, previously used for mining, with 80% of it barren, featuring clay soil, scarce plants, and minimal topsoil.
With a steadfast commitment to environmental stewardship, our foundation of ethical principles prioritises human rights and a zero-deforestation policy. Social responsibility is at our core, ensuring fair employment policies and a positive impact in the lives of our workers.
Over the course of two decades, dedicated efforts with minimal carbon footprint were undertaken to successfully rehabilitate the soil. The resort implemented various sustainable strategies, including the installation of water irrigation systems and solar panels to promote regenerative energy. The land witnessed a remarkable transformation, flourishing with newly grown palm trees, serene lakes, abundant flora and fauna, undisturbed wetlands, and a thriving ecosystem—restored to its glory.
Today, Mangala Estate Boutique Resort stands as a tropical sanctuary that harmoniously integrates contemporary design with the lush natural surroundings. Every aspect has been meticulously crafted with longevity in mind, ensuring that Mangala Estate Boutique Resort's legacy of tranquility endures for generations to come.
Embracing the farm-to-table concept, Mangala Estate Boutique Resort proudly boasts its very own vegetable farm and fruit orchard. We prune our own plants and soil, cultivating locally grown fruits, herbs, and vegetables. Our dedicated fruit orchard, alongside flourishing herbs and vegetables, contribute to a sustainable and vibrant culinary experience for our guests.
